I know I probably did something competly wrong, but
I've been trying to sort this for some time now and I
thought I should put this up.
I installed Fedora Core 3 on 3 of the 8 PC's that I
have to cluster. I then used RPM to install the 2.4
kernel patch, userland tools etc.
I'm embarassed to say how much of a Newbie I am, but
the installation appeared to go okay, until I tried to
run the OM GUI and it told me that OpenMosix is not
I rebooted and had a kernel panic, so I had to boot
using an older kernel on the system. I tried to run
OpenMosix using the service start command but it told
me that OpenMosix has not been compiled to the kernel.
Is it possible that my kernel 2.6, is not compatible
with the 2.4 OM kernel patch.
If this is the case, can someone please ell me where I
get a simple HOWTO to change to a different kernel so
as I can run the OM kernel patch.
