#112 vat dropouts when both sender and receiver are Mac OS X

Background: Using vat for unidirectional audio in
unicast mode

When both the sender and the receiver are running Mac
OS X 10.2.6
then the audio periodically experiences dropouts and
has a warbling
quality to it for tens of seconds at a time. Eventually
vat recovers
and the audio quality is restored but the problem will
reoccur periodically (say at ~5 minute intervals).
