OpenMapTrack

Welcome to the OpenMapTrack wiki. It is just meant for downloading the program zip archive and giving some information about how to install the program.

Version 2.2.beta is far from perfect, I know, and many features are still missing.

It has been published for testing purpose and usage "as is". It can be very useful for you if you want to scan parts of your own hiking maps to have them on your gps device.

What is OpenMapTrack?

OpenMapTrack is a programm for organizing gpx data like waypoints and tracks. You also can callibrate maps from jpg images. The maps then are used as background for your tracks etc. within the program.
The data format of the callibrated maps is kmz (a data format for GoogleEarth) So you can load your maps into GoogleEarth as well. And you can use them with some garmin gps devices. Garmin calls kmz-maps "custom maps". So search your manual or the internet for informations how to use custom maps with your device.

If your device can be referred to as a drive on your computer (like the garmin gps62) you can export the maps from OpenMapTrack to your device directly.
