the site is fixed. http://www.openlp.org/ is back up again.

Our site is down at the moment. The domain name expired but we weren't informed of it's expiry, so we didn't have a chance to renew it before it expired. Hopefully it should be up in a couple of days.

FINALLY! i have managed to get rid of the last few bugs (that i know of) in openlp.org, and i'm about to release RC1 (Release Candidate 1). i'm waiting on the documentation guys to update the help file with the few changes that there are, and then i'll release the install file.

i'm looking for someone who has delphi 7.0 (not personal) and who would like to write an importer application to import songs from one openlp.org database to another. it shouldn't be too much work (probably about 5 hours max), but i don't have the time at the moment to work on it. if you'd like to help, pop me an e-mail and let me know.... read more

howdy folks.

well, things were getting hectic for tim, and i tried to get the source code from him, and then there was some mess up with msn, so we never saw each other... etc, etc, etc!

however, i now have the source code for openlp.org 1.0, and i'm busy working on it and getting rid of the last few bugs. i'm hoping to release openlp.org RC1 by the end of this coming week.

and go sign up on the website! we have forums and the blogs and everthing there now...... read more

we are starting to get going on version 2.0 finally. this version will contain all the features you want and have been waiting for! okay, maybe not all but hopefully most of them.

this also means we're looking for delphi developers, and because this is a large undertaking we need quite a few.

openlp.org has released a new web site! with a brand new look and feel, we have integrated forums, the developers' blog and documentation all into one site. many thanks to the drupal project, we're using the drupal cms! the web site is still a work in progress, like the software, and any help is appreciated. go visit http://www.openlp.org/ right now!

our apologies for the silence. openlp.org is still on it's way, it's just been delayed by various reasons. tim is sick at the moment, and thus is not able to really do any development on openlp.org. however, he is giving openlp.org top priority on his list of things to do as soon as he's better.

just thought i'd post a bit of news... since things have been quiet lately.

i'm now self-employed, which is both good and bad. good in that i have arguably more time to devote to openlp, but bad in that time is money, and that means that sometimes openlp is going to get even less priority than earlier.

tim is trying to get version 1.0 done. we have done our beta testing for the moment, and tim has reviewed the code too, and is making some changes to it. he's currently at soul survivor, but he'll be getting stuck back into openlp when he gets back. if he can't spend time on it, then i'm going to make an effort to get it from him and take over there.... read more

well, we've managed to fix the developers' blog, so that means that we can keep you guys up to date.

also, due to the fantastic response for beta testers, openlp.org is making it's way to 1.0 final. we're not finished testing, so if you still want to be part of it, send your details to me (raoul).

also, development on the cross-platform version of openlp has started, and tim seems quite happy about the progress that is being made there.

Tim is about to release OpenLP 1.0 to beta testing. If you would like to join the beta team, please email Raoul at raoul(at)openlp.org or Tim at tim(at)openlp.org. List your system specs and application versions. We are especially wanting people with versions of Microsoft PowerPoint earlier than XP (aka 2002).

And keep an eye on www.openlp.org, it's gonna change sometime soon!

The latest stable version is now OpenLP 0.994. One major change has been made in the code that fixes an unusual bug in OpenLP where songs would just disappear. I've just uploaded a little preview of OpenLP 2.0. I've managed to get the database stuff somewhat working... though at this stage that's pretty much it. Comments, bugs, etc: raoul@openlp.org is the address.

You can get a preview of how OpenLP 1.0 will look and feel from the Sourceforge page. We hope to have this release out to you in about 3 weeks, so hold onto your seats - it will have a lot of new features over 0.993, and have a much nicer interface, as you can see in the program. OpenLP 0.993 has been released. It includes some changes to the Bible engine, to allow to books (Hebrews and 2 Chronicles), to work properly. OpenLP is a powerful lyrics projection application, specifically for use in church worship services. It will include easy & instant switching between slides, customisable backgrounds, a full song database & support for guitar chords and tablature (in v2).

OpenLP 0.992 has been released.
I added a fix for the error that happens when you start up (about a list being out of range), and also fixed any errors with Bible display for Deuteronomy, Ezekiel and Habakkuk.

I've just released OpenLP 0.991. This version is basically lots of bug fixes - and cosmetic fixes. I hope you like it.
Also just wanted to let you know that at the end of next month, we hope to get a preview of OpenLP 2 out.
