I'm glad to announce another release of the upcoming OpenLP 2.2, version 2.1.4 Release Candidate 1. This release comes with 31 known bug fixes, as well as a bunch of other fixes that don't have specific bug reports.

There's also been a renewed focus on Mac OS X, with bugs like the dock icon problem fixed, and the menu bar fix in the works.... read more

Hooray! It's another release of OpenLP!

Brought to you by much blood and sweat and tears (OK, maybe only the sweat part), is version 2.1.3, the 3rd beta in our 2.2 series. As with the previous release, this is a bugfix-only release, with the focus on getting to a 2.2 release.

There are over 30 bugs fixed in this release, including:

• 2.1.2 Traceback on Presentations for MAC
• Remote password protection doesn't work with https off
• OSX: OpenLP does not start without phonon
• Preview media slider repeatedly shows "Error Occurred" dialogue box
• Exception when saving a service
• non-ascii characters in file path of images and presentation causes traceback
• The FTW fails when network is disconnected during download
• Previewing media item interferes with live media item
• Corrupted databases stop OpenLP from starting
• Traceback in czech bible download
• Slide preview viewer pane
• Bible download from crosswalk fails because crosswalk has updated their layout
• Traceback when playing media with no players available/enabled
• Several bibles missing in download.cfg

The main highlights of this correction release are:

• Fix for OOS changes not being saved in certain circumstances
• Fix for Message dialog sometimes opening on the wrong monitor

• Prevented the creation of the ".lit" file in the openlp.exe directory causing Windows 7 issues

It is with great pleasure I announce the release date for the first ALPHA version of OpenLP 2.0: Sunday 28 March 2010.

What is an alpha release? Well, it's a release to say, "hey, we're not yet done, but you can look at what we've done so far!" Some features are missing, some are incomplete, and some are buggy, but you can look around and play around!

It has taken us a year and a half to get to this point, an initial release of OpenLP 2.0, but this is because we have been rewriting OpenLP from the ground up. There is not one single small piece of code from version 1.x in version 2.0. Rewriting OpenLP from scratch has given us a chance to fix design mistakes in 1.x, add more flexibility, and give you much much more in version 2.0 than we could have ever given you in 1.x.... read more

Version 1.2.3 is purely a bug fix release, solving

• Correction for theme edit bug where the horizontal and vertical alignment sometimes went haywire
• Correction for error when loading a image file for a theme background
  which contain international characters
• Improved handling of Bible imports to avoid importing a bible with the
  same name as an existing bible.
• When displaying verses in the Live window, the slide list now auto-scrolls up to show the next slide in the same way as the lyrics slides.
• Correction made to the Add Song Wizard which resulted in songs not being saved.
• Change made to the SongSelect web import. The mechanism for importing songs now monitors the lyrics export to file function in the webpage. The reason for the change is because the lyrics are now embedded as a PNG file and not as raw text.

Changes in openlp.org 1.2.2.

• Correction for bug prevent song information display from being deactivated
• Added option to ignore saving the unsaved OOS content when selecting to open a new OOS
• Fixed bug preventing the theme export to use any folder outside of the
  Documents and Settings folder. Theme can now be exported to any folder.

V1.2.1 is purely a bug fix release, solving
- A translation bug in the Portuguese language
- A problem if a default display was not selected in the First Run Wizard
- A display numbering issue causing "index out-of-bounds" exceptions
- A bug with the blank screen notification message being on the wrong display at startup
- A bug where in certain Windows display configurations, the Verse search button was not visible... read more

Hi All

For those of you out there that don't have musicians to play music for your church service and use audio tracks, version 1.2.0 will be a welcome surprise (since it wasn't in the project plan). Due to a personal requirement, I continued development on the v1.x line of openlp.org and added the facility to play audio files. Not only that, but they can be linked to lyrics and managed together.

While I was busy with this I was in contact with CCLI in Germany and information to enable me to build in song import support for SongSelect file (txt & usr). I also added a web based facility to import songs from SongSelect. For those of you who use SongSelect, I'm sure you will enjoy this.... read more

Yes, it has finally arrived, the first bugfix release. With over 40 fixes and enhancements, this should help get rid of all those niggly little bugs you've had to deal with. Thanks to our brilliant team of testers, we've managed to rid openlp.org of numerous bugs, and a fair number of somewhat obscure bugs too!

When we released openlp.org 1.0, we hinted at a bugfix release soon after, to clear up any bugs that were still in that release, and true to our word, we've been working on openlp.org 1.0.1. We got our testing team to mercilessly attempt to break openlp.org in a bid to find as many bugs as possible. And we got them...

After a long and busy road, openlp.org is finally nearing it's final release.

Version 1.0 of openlp.org brings video, images and presentation projection to the table, in addition to it's core functions of Bible verses and songs. With configurable themes, custom slides, and even on-screen alerts, openlp.org gives the user a variety of features at their fingertips.

openlp.org Bible Database Creator allows you to create openlp.org bibles from CSV files. Then all you need to do is to put the file you generated into the <openlp.org folder>\data\bibles folder, and openlp.org will pick it up automatically.

The format of the CSV file is as follows:
[book],[chapter],[verse],"[verse text]"
