The license for OpenLLDP has been changed to BSD to facilitate inclusion into commercial products without needing to license the code.
We would still appreciate patches so that OpenLLDP can continue to benefit the community.

The next month is a busy one, as Jason and I are involved in the Networld+Interop HotStage testing and Networld+Interop show in Vegas.
Jason and I plan to show some ad-hoc demonstrations of OpenLLDP at HotStage in the hopes that we can get some gear donated to the project.
Also, Pierre Chambon is joining the OpenLLDP team, so the project is very much alive.
I'm going to try and get 0.3 out the door in the next week before HotStage testing commences, so keep your eye out for that.... read more
The OpenLLDP team is pleased to announce that preliminary Mac OS X support is now in CVS!
Mac OS X support includes all of the features currently available in Linux.
Please help us out by testing the CVS version and reporting any problems you encounter.
Expect another alpha release soon.

This release is a recommended upgrade for all users as it contains a number of critical bug fixes and speed improvements.
New to this release are initial transmit state machine timers.
There isn't (yet) a good mechanism to display neighbor details from the Linux host... so you'll have to run lldpd in debug mode to see decoded neighbor data. Read the README file for more details. ... read more

Initial functionality includes transmit and receive support for Linux. Multiple interfaces are supported.
Portions of the tx/rx state machine still need tweaking, so I would highly recommend against using it in production, unless you don't mind sending the upstream neighbor an LLDPDU every second. ;)

The OpenLLDP project website is now active. We have made some amazing progress on the project.
Current features include:
Multiple interface support.
LLDP TX/RX Functionality (Linux only).
Support for most of the LLDP TLVs.
