I think this concept is the whole point to OpenLedger, creating a gui
independent accounting package that can integrate with other packages.
Your suggestion of OSCommerce is a good one, from what I've heard it's a
popular package.

In my own case, I work with a team that has just done a rewrite of SQL
Clinic (we don't have a website for the project yet...). SC is a mental
health center management package that could really use an integrated
accounting package.

That's the beauty of it, if we can develop a "generic" accounting
package we can use it to turbo charge numerous existing open source
packages.
