PRESENTATION

The software is intended for crop management of a garden from a plan with the representation of plots, crop sheets, a table of annual planning per plot, and a table of crop rotations for each plot with the visualization of previous cultures colored according to the botanical family.
It also includes the plant variety sheets used for crops, the species sheets and the most common plant families. All these sheets can be completed and modified.

The front page has a wallpaper (png - jpg - bmp etc ..) usually a graphic representation of the garden (aerial photos or plan) on which we will place the following objects: parcels, equipment and isolated plantations .
A grid is superimposed on the wallpaper.

The SQLITE database

It is based on the use of a "sqlite" database that includes the following tables:
- table cultures
- table varieties of plants (to be filled by you according to the varieties you use)
- Botanical species table (pre-filled with the most common species but can be completed)
- Botanical family table (pre-filled with the most common families but can be completed)
- tables observations and tasks (pre-filled but can be completed)
- plot tables and bottom of plan

General principles of software use

Start a new project
When starting a project you need:
1 / Set the wallpaper by opening the image file that represents the garden,

2 / Switch to the edition mode of the plan (icon with the pencil), and set up the different plots, plantations and equipment,

3 / Save the modifications of the plan (bottom of plan and parcels) Button "Save the modified plan"

Create a crop sheet
1 / Exit the editing mode of the plan,

2 / Click on the plot area (the plot references are written in the area above the plan)
3 / Click on the "Culture form" button to open the culture sheet window

4 / Click on the button "New blank card"

5 / fill in the form and click on the button "Create a new culture".
6 / close the file (the data are saved in the database)

Getting started

At the opening of the software, the plan area includes a presentation wallpaper, the garden.sqli database located in the software installation directory is connected.

"Edit plan" modes
To modify the graphical objects and to activate the icons of drawing it is necessary to pass in mode "edition" (button with the icon representing a pencil)
The "Edit" mode must be deactivated during the current use of the software because it avoids the modification of graphic objects with the mouse.

Edit mode allows you to create objects representing parcels, equipment, plantations, and networks.

Creating graphics objects
To create the graphic objects, switch to "Edit Plan" mode, a toolbar appears on the left of the plane.

1 / "Rectangle" icon

  • Click on this icon to create a rectangle-shaped parcel that will appear in the planning and rotation, and which has a culture sheet.

2 / "Rectangle with rounded corners" icon
- Click on this icon to create a device that will not appear in the planning and rotation, (for example the compost bin).

3 / Ellipse icon
- Click on this icon to create a plantation which will not appear in the planning and the rotation, (for example fruit tree) but which has a form of culture.

4 / icon "Image"

  • Click on this icon to embed an image in the plan.

5 / Object "Polygon"

  • Click on this icon to create a polygonal plot that will appear in the planning and rotation, and has a culture sheet.

Click on the icon with the plus sign to enter the polygon creation mode, each click on the plane creates one of the vertices of the polygon connected by a line representing e side, then click on the first icon after "Validate" for the validation of the polygon.

6 / Object "Polyline" - Click on this icon to create the representation of a network of polyline shape which will not appear in the planning and the rotation, and which does not have a form of culture.

Click on the icon with the plus sign to enter the polyline creation mode, each click on the plane creates one of the vertices of the polyline connected by a line representing the side, then click on the second icon located after "Validate" for the validation polyline.

Editing graphic objects

To change the graphic objects switch to "Edit Plan" mode, move the mouse over the object, a hand appears, then click on the object and holding the left mouse button to move it.

To change the size of the objects rectangle - rounded rectangle and ellipse move the mouse on the right part at the bottom of the object, when the double arrow appears, click while holding the left button of the mouse to modify the size.

  • To modify the vertices of the polygons, select the polygon, then click on the Modify icon. The vertices appear, move them, or using the menu (right mouse click on the rectangle representing the vertex add or remove a vertex). then click on the first icon after "Validate" for the validation of the polygon.

  • To modify the vertices of the polylines, select the polyline by clicking on the rectangle located at one end of the polyline, then click on the Modify icon. The vertices appear, move them, or using the menu (right mouse click on the rectangle representing the vertex add or remove a vertex). then click on the second icon after "Validate" for polyline validation.

Customizing graphic objects
The background color and characters of the parcels, equipment and plantations can be modified by clicking on the object and then on the icon Choice color background, thickness and color of the outer edge, a dialog box opens to select the color or thickness.
You can also change the order of graphic objects by using the "Skip ahead" icons.

The two icons, whether or not to display the background, allow you to hide or show the current background, and the icons that hide or show the grid do the same for the grid.

The forms

The available forms are as follows:

The crop sheet

By clicking on the button "Cultures", one accesses the parcel selected beforehand in the plan.

3 / Click on the button "New blank form"

4 / fill in the form and click on the button "Create a new culture".
5 / close the file (the data are stored in the database)

Deleting a culture

Click on the "Culture sheet" button to delete the crop.

Editing a culture

1 / Click on the area of the plot (the references of the plot are written in the area above the plan)
2 / Click on the "Culture form" button to open the culture sheet window

3 / Modify the form and click on the "Save modification" button.

Configuration of the database

The XML file contains terrain plan configuration data with parcels, materials, and plantations.

The database file (.sqli) that is linked to the configuration file contains:

  • the crop sheets (associated with the plots)

  • the plants cards

  • the species sheets

  • the sheets of the families of plants

Choose the active database:

You can choose the .sqli database that will be active, then save the name of this bae in the .xml configuration file by clicking on the "save parameters in xml file" button so that this database is active during the first time. opening the configuration file.

Creating a new database:

You can either create:

  • a database with only tables without data,

  • a database with tables species - families - pre-filled spots,

  • a new database by importing a backup text file of .sql type that includes tables and data.

Exporting active database:

The database is saved as an SQL text file with extension .sql which can be imported as a new database.
