This OpenInteract release (1.36) fixes the bug mentioned on Friday (for 5.005x) and one reported offlist today with OpenInteract::CommonHandler (regarding remove() functionality). Thanks much to Randal Schwartz and Andreas Nolte for their respective reports. Chris ----- Forwarded message from PAUSE <up...@p1...> ----- From: PAUSE <up...@p1...> Reply-To: cpa...@pe... A new version (1.35) of OpenInteract has been released to CPAN. OpenInteract is an extensible web application server built on Apache, mod_perl, the Template Toolkit and SPOPS object persistence. This is a substantial upgrade, with two new packages, support for the INI-style server configuration format and many changes to the server configuration. The new packages are 'object_activity' and 'base_page'. The first enables search and display of the object logging activity. The second replaces the 'static_page' package with support for uploads, aliases, and (crude but working) URL support. As always, the many other modifications in this release are listed in the Changelog (URL below). This fixes the clone() bug Ray Zimmerman spotted, as mentioned on the -dev list yesterday. ----- Forwarded message from PAUSE <up...@p1...> ----- From: PAUSE <up...@p1...> Reply-To: cpa...@pe... The latest version of SPOPS, Simple Perl Object Persistence with Security, has been released and is winging its way around CPAN right now. SPOPS is a robust and powerful module that allows you to serialize objects. You can create most objects without any code, just configuration. This latest version (0.53) includes support for multiple-field primary keys in DBI datasources, plus some additional examples of class factory and persistence rules. SPOPS 0.52 has been released to CPAN and is available on Sourceforge. It fixes a bug in SPOPS::ClassFactory family that broke old rules. This release also contains additional examples, enhancements to SPOPS::LDAP::MultiDatasource and, as a result of discussions on the poop-group list, some initial support for setting default values in newly-created objects. A new version (1.30) of OpenInteract has been released to CPAN. OpenInteract is an extensible web application server built on Apache, mod_perl, the Template Toolkit and SPOPS object persistence. This upgrade has some new features, feature enhancements and bugfixes and is fairly substantial. However, there should be no upgrading issues as in the 1.1 -> 1.2 transition. Some of the larger changes: - A new class (OpenInteract::CommonHandler) makes it very easy to create common search/display/edit/remove tasks that act on data in a database. - Some simple template widgets are included, which make it easy to centralize common visual elements. - Template performance should be improved dramatically, since both template caching and compiling work properly now - A new package ('lookup') is included to enable editing of lookup table data without writing any code at all. As always, the 'Changes' file has many more items and details. A new version (0.51) of SPOPS (Simple Perl Object Persistence with Security) has been released to CPAN. SPOPS is a robust and powerful module that allows you to serialize objects. You can create most objects without any code, just configuration. This is mostly a bugfix and enhancement release. In particular, LDAP persistence has been improved. This release also includes the first version of the SPOPS manual. Parts of it are still incomplete (or even missing), but the general framework is there and should provide guidance to the overall system.
