Yep, just call $R->db with the datasource name and you'll get back 
your standard everyday DBI handle:

  my $dbh = $R->db( 'datasource_name' );
  my $sql = "EXEC mysp 'foo', 'bar'";
  my $sth = $dbh->prepare( $sql );
  $sth->execute;
  ...
