[Openinteract-help] using OI functions in perl scripts outside the webserver?

Hi,

I would like to write a script that I could cron that would read in a csv
file and create user accounts based on the contents.  I'd like to use OI
functions to ensure that security and whatnot gets set properly.  I've
looked at the way users are created within OI, but I don't see a way to get
$R outside the web server (as there is not a request, right?).  Is there
another way to call OI functionality without having a request to base if on?
