A few questions: 
 
 - What is the MIME type set to in the 'page' object?  
 
 - What is the name of the file you're trying to retrieve? 
 
 - What is the MIME type returned to the browser? (Doing a 'HEAD 
   http://blah/myfile.xls' will tell you this)
