[Openinteract-dev] question on package install

well,
i modified slightly fruit.pm into a package and i thought I'd be asking for submission rights here, but I have an error on install.
[joe@www pkg_autoindex]$ oi_manage --base_dir=/usr/local/openinteract --website_dir=/var/oi --package pkg_autoindex apply_package
Running apply_package...

FAILED!: Cannot install package to website. Error: Cannot create
           /var/oi/pkg/- : Permission denied at

I ended up with this interesting directory which is a literal -:

any idea what caused this?  The package I was creating is at
http://www.sirfsup.com/mod_perl_webapp/web_servers/apache/openinteract/pkg_autoindex/decoy.htm

can you also interpret that last half of the failed message, too, please.
