Category: HP c-Class Plugin Group: 3.0.x Status: Open Resolution: None >Priority: 2 Private: No Submitted By: Hemantha Beecherla (hemanthreddy) Assigned to: dr_mohan (dr_mohan) Summary: Openhpid is dying when run any client except hpi_shell Initial Comment: If IP address of the active OA is entered in the configuration file and the active OA is out of the network initially but comes back to the network later. After reinserting the network cable in to Active OA, and after performing the switchover It has discovered all the resources by hpi_shell, but when running any other hpi client(hpipower , hpiinv, Etc..) openhpid is getting terminated but pid file exists. And there is no message regarding the Openhpid crash in /var/log/messages. Environment: OA firmware : 3.31 [root@mphnyo33 ~]# uname -a Linux mphnyo33.corp.mphasis.com 2.6.18-274.el5 #1 SMP Fri Jul 8 17:39:55 EDT 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux [root@mphnyo33 ~]# [root@mphnyo33 ~]# cat /etc/issue Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.7 (Tikanga) Kernel \r on an \m [root@mphnyo33 ~]# [root@mphnyo33 ~]# cat /proc/version Linux version 2.6.18-274.el5 (moc...@x8...) (gcc version 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-51)) #1 SMP Fri Jul 8 17:39:55 EDT 2011 [root@mphnyo33 ~]# Pre-Conditions: 1.There are two OAs present when starting the OA SOAP Plugin 2.The user enters the IP address of the currently active OA into the configuration file 3.There is network outage for the active OA while starting the OA SOAP Plugin(can be achieved by removing the network cable connected to the OA) Steps to reproduce: 1.Start the HPI session 2.Make the active OA accessible(can be achieved by plugging in the cable) 3.Check all the resources are properly discovered and the HPI calls are successful(Run hpi_shell, hpipower, etc...) 4.Perform an action to generate an event and check if the events are generated in the OA SOAP Plugin 5.Check if the other OA has been discovered 6.Perform a manual switchover (can be performed using HPSIM) 7. After the manual switchover is completed (i.e. the OAs have stabilized) 7.1Check if all the resources are discovered properly(Run hpi_shell, hpipower etc..) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Shyamala (shyamalaopenhpi) Date: 2011-12-07 22:55 Message: I tried to reproduce the issue multiple times with the steps mentioned in SourceForge on below mentioned two configurations, but not able to reproduce.
