Recently I received an eLoc GL100 tracking device. I would like to develop a server for opengts but I cannont find any documentation for this device.
Does anyone have one of these device and/or its documentation and it would like to share it for this purpose?
To reply to my own post, I just found that it is supported for the Enterprise edition of GTS. Is there an opensource version for this device?
without the protocol specifications it's hard to understand if this device is supported.
Device of different brand often uses the same protocol, so It's possible that OpenGTS support your device too.
Only Martin can answer to your question.
BTW, You can try to run the Template server and configure your device to send data to it.
After this, reading the log it's possible to undertand if sent data are coding using a supported or similar protocol.
You need to read (or post in this thread) rows similar the follow, related to "Recv" label :
You can use a RAW socket to read sent data too.
Do you have at least the user's manual ?
This could be a good starting point.
at this stage I do not have any documentation for the device/protocol, that what I was asking for at the forum. I found what I think is the SMS setup guide. I will try changing the IP for the data gateway and see if I can receive anything useful with the basic template. I am also looking for any setup tools from the Sparknano/Enduro vendors. Not sure if that will help though, it seems that the device comes preconfigured to work with their own system. Too early with my research to say for sure.
If writing my own driver is not possible then getting the GTSEnterprise version looks like the only option left.
