I can't find a way to do so in OS X. If I try to drag it away from 
the left side of the main window, it repeatedly pops back to its 
original position. The windows can't be overlapped and the properties 
window disappears if I close the main window. The only way to get the 
properties window on the smaller screen is to shrink the main window.
