OpenG Serial drivers

Hello
There has recently been some discussion in info-Labview about a royalty 
free serial functionality in LabVIEW. I would be interested in working 
on this. There are already some libraries available, posted by others on 
the web in different places. I am interested in working on this. Is 
OpenG a suitable forum for this task? How do I set about it?
