Hello, All I am happy to announce a working concept the OpenG Package Installer 2.0. You can download a copy of this the link below. OGPI 2.0 Concept Download: http://openg.org/ogpi-2.0concept-win.zip This version of the OGPI is a proof-of-concept of two exciting features: Package Cache - The package cache is a location on disk where packages are store locally, until being installed. This allows easy access to packages commonly used. It also facilitates easily switching between configurations of installed packages. Online Package Directory - A list of all OpenG Toolkit packages is visible and users are allowed to select and download packages into Package Cache, for later installation. The actual location of packages is not visible to users. They simply select the package, from a list and press the "Download" button, and it becomes available for installation. The workflow of obtaining and installing packages looks like this: Online Package Repository =={Download}==> Package Cache ==={Install}===> Installed Packages -= Getting Involved =- I am looking for people who are interested in working on this revolutionary LabVIEW software product. We already have most of the pieces, but we need to do more brainstorming on features and have people focusing on the refinement of different aspects of the project. Please let me know if you are interested in joining the OGPI 2.0 team. Once we form the team we will work on defining all of the requirements, and then set a schedule for the completion of our 2.0 release. Regards, -Jim |
