OS - WinXP Pro w/SP1
OpenGlide Version - Tried All From 007b4 thru 009rc3
Video Card - Radeon 9700 Pro w/Cat 3.1 Drivers

Problem - When exiting a mission whether it is through
crashing the plane, completing the mission objectives or
pressing the ESC key, before getting the option to end
the mission (i.e. before exiting Glide mode to return to
DD mode) WinXP brings up a box that says "Red Baron
II Singleplayer has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." The options
are to send or not send a problem report to Microsoft.
When I close this error box, I am dropped to the
desktop. This happens in Fly Now or in campaign
missions.

All of the above is with desktop color depth set to 16bit.
If my desktop color depth is set to 32bit, I do not even
exit the mission screen, it simply locks up the screen
while still in Glide mode and I cannot get out except by
power-off & reboot.

I think I have isloated the problem to the interaction
between the Glide2x.dll and the Radeon's Atioglxx.dll.
If I replace the Cat 3.1's version of Atioglxx.dll (dated
01/20/03) with the Cat 3.0a's version of that file (dated
12/18/02), then I do not get the error message box
mentioned above - it all works fine as long as the
desktop is set to 16bit. If the desktop is set to 32bit it
works as long as antialiasing or anisotropic filtering are
not turned on. If they are turned on, then the game
locks up the same as using the Cat3.1 version of
Atioglxx.dll.
