Your explanation was very clear. I'll research the problem further. BTW:
Some older manuals for Borland C++ ( pre 1995) do not call out typename as a
keyword but you would think by now all compilers would include it.
There is a small test program called socktest.tgz located at
http://vso.cape.com/~nhv. Unfortunately, you have to download most of the
flightgear source and libraries to use it. But it does follow a lot of what
you said regards networks,UDP vs TCP/IP, etc. and the general approach for
connecting via a network. I'll be using merge the OpenGC code with the
network interface to the flightgear state variables.
Once I get this working, I hope to add it to the FlightGear package and
continue expanding the flight deck. Will need DEPs (data entry panels),
system instrumentation, and a few more flight gauges - HSI, radar altimeter,
maps, whatever.
