[Opengc-devel] maps on nav display

There are sectionals available (for the US) at
  http://aviationtoolbox.org/raw_data/FAA_sectionals/

They are geo-tiff images, scanned directly from the published
sectionals, with enough registration to plot lat/long
coordinates on it.

Has anyone considered making a moving map display with these
images?  How difficult would it be to put these images onto the
nav display?

I found an unsupported program
  http://www.hsge.de/geo-spatial/software/index.html
that will read & display the images, so that may be a starting
point.
