Hi, I talked to Pete Dowson, developer of FSUIPC, yesterday and verified where OpenGC stands in regards to working with the new payware version of FSUIPC. Basically, OpenGC will work fine without any special registration provided the user already has a registered copy of WideFS. A registered copy of FSUIPC is _not_ required, unless you want to run OpenGC on the same machine as the sim (which I discourage for performance reasons). This means that if you are using OpenGC with the FSUIPC data source, you should purchase your 3.0+ copy now to avoid problems when we make the switch (probably soon). I would like to have the switch accomplished before the Avsim conference next week, and will be out of town from Friday through the beginning of the conference, so this will likely happen tomorrow evening. Once the switch occurs, we will no longer support earlier (i.e. freeware) versions of FSUIPC. The payware version of FSUIPC will, however, work with older versions of Flight Simulator, so OpenGC will support those as well as the latest and greatest.
