DAP12 inon-covalently anatural killer (NK), myelo(1,2).  DAP12 contains an ITAM domrecruits the protein tyrosine kinase Syk to initiattransduction (3). DAP12 is a wiring component for NK cell anti-viral function (e.g. mouse cytomegalovirus via its association with
mousassociation wiinvolved in inflammatory rereceptors, such as the triggering recepcells (TREM) displayed by neutrophils, monocytes,dendritic cells.  Deficiency of DAP12 results in reantigen presentation function by myeloid cells and defects in function of certain NK cell receptors in mice (4,5), as well as presenile
dementia
