I thought I would update all you webmasters about the features I know you're salivating over. ;)
Currently what is in CVS has a working module system (although not fully tested) that I was able to install from scratch. Many of the auxilary APIs are implemented:
-settings is done but not tested
-editors needs work but preliminaries are done
-Slug resolution is written but not tested, slug advertisment (a skin thing) is not done
Most of the modules are not yet ported to the new system (the exceptions being Awards and the new 'Modules' module, which I wrote for debugging).
Skins may not make the initial dev releases, seeing as it's a fairly large feature that is not implemented at all (or barely thought about). I'm thinking some kind of templating/generation system (eg, generate forms and tables, have templates for specific items, like slugs). If anyone has oppinions on this, we're open to suggestions.
If you're really interested in what's going on, I recomend looking at the openfirst-devel list regularly, or at least until I/we have time to document it. If you're interested in becoming a regular module writer (independent of the openFIRST team), contact us. I would like to hear what the users of this API would like.
(I think that may be more detail than I gave Tim!)
