Hi, As mentioned in my previous e-mail (dated 2008-02-27) I've been migrating things from openfirst.org from one server to another. This has obviously taken more than the 2 week window I'd originally anticipated it would fit in. The process itself isn't very time consuming but I've had several other things to do and for much of the time was traveling. People don't seem to actually notice, anyway. At this point the only subdomains not yet migrated are: demo.openfirst.org podcast.openfirst.org playground.openfirst.org Additionally, note that blog.openfirst.org isn't working properly at the moment. I don't believe this is related to the move, I think things were in a broken state before the move began and that I didn't discover this until post-move tests. If you notice problems anywhere related to this move, please let me know. e-mail has not yet been migrated. I've noticed that most (perhaps all?) of the e-mail stored on the server currently is spam. The current size of the mail directory is 1.3 GB. I believe the main reason this stuff is sitting here is that for many accounts I'd created real e-mail accounts and forwarders, most people only used the forwarders, and duplicate copies of all messages are therefore still sitting on the server. I'd like to change this setup to only running forwarding so that we don't continue to face increasing resource requirements for something that's not getting anyone value. If you are actually using an @openfirst.org e-mail address other than just forwarding or the mailing lists which are also forwards and/or you have valuable e-mails archived there please make local copies. If you are unsure how to do this, do not have access to your account, or would merely like me to send your mail directory to another e-mail account (such as say GMail so you can archive it easily) please e-mail me individually. The list of these real accounts with non-empty sizes is: anthony bharat dan daniel dave debug greg guilherme jamie josh kayla larry stephanie steve tim I anticipate I will migrate e-mail addresses at some point a week or two from today. Thanks, Tim |

Hi Tim Glad to see the openFIRST project is still up and running. I have to get a copy of the code some day and see where it has gone in the last few years. However, I haven't been involved with the project at all lately, so feel free to just delete my account :) Good luck with everything - Greg Tim Ginn wrote: > This is a post to the openFIRST discussion list, subscription management information is included at the bottom of this message. > _______________________________________________ > > Hi, > > As mentioned in my previous e-mail (dated 2008-02-27) I've been > migrating things from openfirst.org from one server to another. I've finished this migration. Forwarding accounts are now setup. It may take some time for changes to propagate. If you have e-mail messages you'd like saved/given to you and you didn't grad them before this time I've created an archive of them, contact me for your part.
