hee :-) for memories sake ;-) : Recurring programs need the following basic functionality: drop down menu: - never <default> - every day - every week - every month -> until <date drop down> -> or <drop down 1-12> times this should be on the same page as the program details of the prgram about to be added... hi. overlaping into the next day: ok, so this task is somehow finished (60%?) which is beacuse of the problem of overlaps from [unvisible] previous days which don't appear in the first day of the table simply because the timetable script don't checks the previous day in database. which brings us to the basic problem: who will decide on overlapping? table_rendering script or database entry? or in other words: should we rather tweak the addProgramme script so it adds two entries if the entered programme is going into the next day? this needs to be thought out thoroughly i think. and there's another question or task popping up: addProgramme should be tweaked in this way, so that overlapping of programmes [between eachother] don't occur at all. in other words: goal is that the entries in the database are not already overlapping instead of covering that up in the timetable layout. besides that, i created two new tasks and assigned them to myself: Correct Sync of Timetabling and Database and Restructure of Functions. i hope that's ok. it's more of a note to myself than real work delegation. normally i consider adam as the one who does it. about reoccuring programmes: we need to discuss all the options we want to give within the system: daily and weekly is quite sure, but how about monthly? every 6th in the month or every second thursday in the month? i know what adam will say now. hehe. both, ha? ll. ps: oh, and another thing: we urgently need delete incorporated. my timetables are full. :) luka "nova" princic nova at skylined.org | @beeblebrox:lndn | http://skylined.org 54 22 AA 35 0F BF F1 E1 78 7A 7C E5 EB 09 F4 8B EF 5D 17 F1 ---------------------------------------------------------------+ Fuck dance let's art. -- coldcut |

Hey Luka, Just looked through the new structure and it looks really nice...cleans up thye files really well. I can imagine a README that explains that the structure of the FC is inherent in the .php pages in the top level dir, everything else goes on underneath. I think this would make implemntation and customisation easy if (and hopefully when!) someone else wants to implement the FC on another server and add their own design etc. I wondered what you though about putting the css and js files in seperate dirs as well or is that going too far? Also, shall we use the openfcphp folder as the new cvs dev, or do you want to change it to the old dir? Let me know so I can check out the right one! ;-) adam adam |

It was set to 'localhost' because the files you put up from cvs are default to 'localhost'. When I put up the test site at sourceforge I changed them for the implementation we have in htdocs to mysql.sourceforge.net but when I did that chmod and accidently deleted the files it was then gone of course...I did it this way because I figured its best not to have the mysql password in the fcini.php in the cvs because then anyone can read it and then we are a bit (wide) open for hacking...so I think perhaps what we should do is make a dbini.php and put all the db details there, taht way we can keep altering the cvs fcini.php and not have to remember to change the db details before putting it on the test site...then we just add a include dbini.php for every page that needs the db just looking into logging on to delete phpopenfc adam > > > something is also extremely wrong with phpopenfc folder in > > htdocs. can we get rid of it completely? i have no > > permissions to it at all. although there's a > > writable bit on the folder. > > > > luka princic | nova at skylined.org | @beeblebrox:lndn > 54 22 AA 35 0F BF F1 E1 78 7A 7C E5 EB 09 F4 8B EF 5D 17 F1 > - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + > It is said that power corrupts, but actually it's > more true that power attracts the corruptible. > The sane are usually attracted by other things than power. > -- David Brin > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Openfc-tech mailing list > Ope...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/openfc-tech > Adam Hyde XS4ALL Internet B.V. mobile : + (31) 06 2903 6248 Eekholt 42 1112 XH Diemen Amsterdam "free, as in 'radio'" |

hey :-) I am not sure why the timestamp is like that but I know I tested it and it works (re-check it though)..I think it might be because the timestamp is YYYY:MM:DD:HH:MM:SS...infact I am looking at the mysql docs and it looks like mysql stores the time and tste like this: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS > > furthermore, i am a bit stuck on lack of certain thing: are > functions in fcini.php actually working and are all > "in-the-work" by the system, or is it this just a rewrite > which needs to be yet thoroughly tested? > they all work except where stated 'not implemented'... hi all. i spent first two hours just now on making some adjustments to environment on sourceforge, specificaly (s)ftp space and shh. in fact by loging to ssh <username>@openfc.sourceforge.net i discovered neat shell environment suitable for most of scripting etc. so first i did the following: made a quicklink from my home dir to openfc ln -s /home/groups/o/op/openfc/ openfc so i don't need to go through the tedious cd /home/groups.. changed my umask in .bash_profile from 022 to 002 so that whichever file or directory i create through the shell or scripts is writable by anyone in the group umask 002 unfortunately this doesn't work for ftp uploads. although i tried to find some method of setting permissions through ftp the server on the other side seems to be all too limited for now, so the best way to deal with the intention to enable changing files and directories by everyone in openfc group is to ssh yourself to sourceforge, chdir to openfc/htdocs folder and issue "chmod g+w -R *" i created a small script that anonymously logs onto openfc cvs and checksout whole "code" folder to htdocs/cvs/code. i've put that into my crontab so it does that every night. if one needs to update it manually there's a same script (quite user friendly) in /home/o/op/openfc/ folder (cvs-update), which can be run by ./cvs-update. the script also changes permissions if there are any new files in cvs that would need to be changed separately on ftp, although i don't see any sense in that. the incorporation into html-dev site on openfc.sourceforge can be done easily: we just had phpopenfc dir which is supposed to be the 'nighly' mirror of cvs. now all it needs to be done is throw away that dir and make a symlink instead like: ln -s /home/groups/o/op/openfc/cvs/code/PHP\ openfc/ phpopenfc in fact there's already a link phpopenfc_ which can be just move-ed: mv phpopenfc_ phpopenfc after the old phpopenfc folder is removed, of course. that's all for now. just a small stickit note for you, adam,: don't forget: reply-to for this m-list and you might just do chmod g+w -R /home.../openfc/htdocs/* if you find time in next two or three days. love, luke luka princic | nova at skylined.org | @beeblebrox:lndn 54 22 AA 35 0F BF F1 E1 78 7A 7C E5 EB 09 F4 8B EF 5D 17 F1 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + Nothing is ever accomplished by a reasonable man. -- George Bernard Shaw |
