HI Adam , Been testing the [evolving] site. I've managed to set up 4 channels so far! Am looking at how to management processes for these. In the meantime, I found this short document written by BBC Technology called "Controlling complex broadcast infrastructures" which has a section on providing "end-user and process-oriented control interfaces". Please download it from http://gio.spc.org/fc/docs/controling_complex.zip [zipped pdf] If you're at the FC base, I can come around be your interface guinea pig. Have you erased the user: adam pass: adam account? Will we have shared schedules again? Is there anyway of seeing all the channel schedules. or at least viewing the players? At the moment the only way of seeing what other channels there are is via the "link channels to player". Not sure what that is meant to do... Quick access to all the channels windows in a dropdown menu would be nice. Can we have a link to the chat room from the scheduling menu interface, as well as from the player interface? How do I make an external link (say from my web-page) to the playerwindow, without having to login to the fc and go to the bottom of the "tracks" window to press "play now"? Can I save my scheduling data? in what format? Can I also save my programes list info? in what format? Please don't wipe my data (if you can help it) for a while... on the player interface. I put in urls for various kinds of file types in /CustomisePlayer/Logo field. .jpg, .gif, .png display correctly in the bottom of the player I tried .txt, .swf , .mov but it came up with a broken image. Can we input and display these and other file format like .html, .php, into the 280x50 window? Can the player window size be set to be re-sizeable (by dragging the corner)? What does the html input in the "customise player" do? A note next to the url input field saying what mime types are accepted would be nice. also more details/guides on what each input field accepts, next to the field. The /CustomisePlayer/Logo input field displays only 44 characters of the url. Could the input field be set to display more characters so long urls can be seen and read in full? As many characters as possible of the url should show when inputting data. This should be the case for all url input fields. (including the url input fields in /AddProgram/AddNewProgram/URL /AddProgram/EditProgram/URL This will make it easier to read and input correct data. A generalised "Monitor Channels" list and "Play Now" buttons would be nice. Can we personalise our own "play now" button? 1d/ I'm not sure what effect the /CustomisePlayer/Font /CustomisePlayer/FontSize /CustomisePlayer/TableColor input fields are having? Where is this displayed? How does it work? _____________________________________________________________________________ The Login The front page information about fc is repeated once a user has logged in. 1/ Once a user is logged can the last edited channel schedule (on the left) and user's programs be listed. 2/ Better still. Can there be a page with "Now playing" for each _____________________________________________________________________________ 2 The Scheduler When chosing to /EditTimetable can the clock be set to current time? In addition to this, can the current time also be displayed in the /EditTimeTable/more ______________________________________________________________________________ More coming...
