adam wrote: > the design is in place at : > http://frequencyclock.montevideo.nl hi all. couple of words and thoughts from me. first of all, latest: i just commited the fix for that ugly bug that didn't allow the looping events that stretched from foo-day to bar-day display in the bar-day if there was some other event on that day. after i spent days looking for solution, i found there's a quick fix comprising 10 lines of code. bah! but that's fixed now. but, in more general view, i think the work on fc is now clearly divided into two areas: newfeatures and debugging. i think new features are now quite adam's reponsibility and, you know, all the decision-making stuff. on theother hand, for last month or so, i was trying to fix (among others) timetable layout bugs that appeared with passionately incorporated fetures like looping and recurring events. re bugs and timetable layout, i think there are two more important things to fix. o) if looping of event begins on foo-day which is not visible on table, and continues onto a day which is visible, the first block is displaced strangely. o) events with <1.5min lenght don't appear at all (at 100% res) - althought every event on the table should be represented somehow. one of the solutions to second bug: if the short event apears to some longer - visible - event, the visible event get's an "this block contains multiple events" overlay onmouseover. otherwise if short event is isolated, its size is forced to one pixel. in third case, when a lot of short events are in a succesion, they accumulate into small blocks of one pixel all saying they contain multiple events. how to do it is another thing, hehe. :)) :: anyway, i'm happy to see poeple heavily testing the thing (bart + chiara) and proposing different new features (james, pete, gio...). also bigup to goo for great design. i'm also looking forward to long-ago discussed option of opening the development more to other coders who would like to improve the engine. yes, yes, i have to write some more comments into the code in that case. ok, enough from me for now. let it roll. i'm in london till thursday evening then off to some rest for two weeks, so (pete?) if some action is needed, type yazelf IN! :)) love, luka -- - nova at skylined dot org - ----------------------------------------------+ The universe is made up of stories, not atoms. |
