I've found an arcview script
(http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=12896) that's able to export
data to mysql and I've tried doing that and then export that data to an Esri
shapefile, but still no luck. It creates the shape (.shp etc.) files
alright, but it doesn't recognise the data as geometry data.

Here is the command I use to export the data:
ogr2ogr.exe -f "ESRI Shapefile" c:\test.shp ODBC:jra
As I wrote above, I get no errors and can load the shape file just fine, but
it doesn't recognise the data as geometry data (no points show up in my
