Hello,
This bug report was originally reported to Debian's bugtracker. It's a different feature request than "implement a multiple-slot mechanism" hence I'm filing this new report.
"Instead of implementing a multiple-slot save mechanism, I think
that the game should let the user choose the filename for the
save file (currently ~/.opencity/opencity.save).
When the user clicks on the save button, the city should be saved
to the currently loaded one, if any. Otherwise, a dialog should
ask the user which filename he/she would like to use and then
save to ~/.opencity/<chosenfilename>.opencitysave
(please note the appended filename extension).
There should also be a "save as" button, just like in typical editing
programs...</chosenfilename>
This way, there would not be a limited number of save slots, but
an unlimited number, provided enough space is available in the
user's home directory..."
