I continue to work regularly with your program. Thank you for your work!
As it turned out, in the editor mode, I lack several functions:
1) The ability to open and edit the single selected file. Quite often I have to open different songs on different devices and in different folders. It is not always convenient to transfer a file to the Data folder of the program from a location, and then back. Of course, I can do it in a Notepad or other text editor. But they do not have the Open Chords features. Song files do not have an extension, and I cannot use the context menu such as "Open with" or via the command line. Or just do not know how to do it.
2) Search and Replace function in the lyrics and chords of the song. Useful thing when working with text.
3) I often get new songs on the Internet or from other people in the office files (.doc, .docx or .odt) the songs are typed in Proportional fonts (almost always, not everyone understands that the Monospaced font is better), and when translated to a monospaced font, the placement of chords deteriorates. Each time you have to rearrange them manually. Do you know any mechanism to avoid or automate this?
4) There is an OpenChords.Web folder in the Git- repository, but I still could not launch it. Need some kind of special hosting? Is there a guide on how to do this? Or have you suspended development?
5) In modern times, many services work via the Internet, I store my songs on GitHub and cloud services, remote work may sometimes be necessary. Would you like to create a network open chords, at least an editor, perhaps like Prose.io or as a browser plugin?
6) We have been discussing multilingual interface for a long time. I really wanted to help with the Russian language, you still do not want to do this?

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
1) How about this: I could add a stand alone editor and associate the .openchords file extension to work with OpenChords. A bonus would be to allow file drag and drop. Thoughts?
2) Good idea
3) I know your pain with variable width fonts but I haven't figured out a way to fix this. Another painful thing to work with is when people use TABS for chord placement.
4) I started a WebForms version of OpenChords but I suspended development. To host it you need to use Internet Information Services (IIS) but I'm not sure if it still works at all. I'm considering creating an Angular version of OpenChords in future
5) Nice idea but definitely not on the roadmap at this point. This will be simpler, however, if I ever manage to create a web version of OpenChords.
6) If this is relatively easy to do, sure :)

1) This is interesting.
Only need to keep the ability to work with files without the extension and the usual Open Song XML.
In my personal experience, and this is already several years (and I am grateful to you for that!) three different frames closely in one window, especially on a small screen.
Sometimes it seems to me that you can completely divide the application into 2 parts:
Song Explorer: for managing sets + presentation mode + base viewer. I think the most successful option is the Grid for selecting songs by key, tempo, etc. Adding custom tags and custom tabs for grouping would be very helpful.
And when click on a song, the second part of the application would be connected:
Song Editor - the editor of the song with file operations, import, export, replace, perhaps autosave, syntax check and others.
Perhaps they could work as 2 different applications :)
6) It is possible to make interface labels as reading variables in different languages from different xml files. For example eng.xml for English and rus.xml for Russian. Language change in settings.
But probably it is a lot of work :)

1) Nice idea. Think I'll try this in beta version rather than a full release and see what the response is before I put it into the mainstream product. You could also have multiple songs open at the same time this way :)
6) Nice idea. Will be difficult the first time around, for every other language its just a new XML file

Hi Serg,
Glad you finding OpenChords useful :)

Thanks for the quick response, Michael.

Thank you. I will wait for news from you.
Ready to make rus.xml based on your eng.xml)
