List, Things do seem to have died off a bit after the initial flurry of activity; I guess exam season is upon us. However, we have made some important steps such as a comprehensive list of software alternatives. I believe we need to focus on 3 parts now: 1. Technical Installer development. 2. Installer HTML front-end work. 3. Program testing/elimination/documentation. (yes, there are other issues like distribution, etc., but In my view the 3 above are the potential show-stoppers) Of these, the installer seems to be the hard part. Has anyone else looked at the kiosk-implementation of mozilla? It looks promising: http://kiosk.mozdev.org. It seems possible to customize the browser simply by setting up some .XUL, to fit our needs. The remaining question is, how easy is it to get it run off the CD? Also, should we set up a CVS directory soon. We could put in K-meleon or kiosk.mozdev if we chose to work with one of these. We could also set up a CVS with HTML files for the front-end (or is the TWiki better for that?) - Henrik -- Henrik Nilsen Omma Theoretical Physics, Oxford 35 Frenchay Road 1 Keble Road Oxford OX2 6TG Oxford OX1 3NP h....@bt... he...@th... |
