Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G
Android 11
Android Security Patch Level May 1, 2021
I want to use the app for clean camera output out the USB-C port to the HDMI input of a Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro video switcher.
When I go into the Settings / Immersive Mode / Hide Everything, it indeed gives me a completely clean screen, except the 3 dim Android icons, not sure you can do anything about that.
The issue is I cannot exit this mode. No matter how I swipe I can't get back to the normal user interface to take a picture or get back into Settings.
When I swipe down from the top of the phone screen I get the standard Android settings icons and it looks like the normally decorated Open Camera interface is underneath, but when I click anywhere, the Android settings icons and the Open Camera user interface vanishes.
The only way I've found I can get back into settings is to kill the app, then launch it and click in the upper left corner of the screen during the microsecond before the app goes into Hide Everything mode. :^) That works about 1 time out of 10.
The app works well for my needs but would appreciate being able to get out of Hide Everything mode cleanly.
Thanks.

To fix getting stuck in this state, try your device's Settings/Apps, then under Open Camera try Storage/"Clear data", to reset everything to default.
The bug itself with using immersive mode on Android 11 will be fixed in the next version of Open Camera (annoyingly Android 11 changed the behaviour without maintaining compatibility but it can be worked around).
