I wonder if it'd be possible to capute more than 8-bit of dynamic range in video.
My phone (OnePlus 5T)can shoot photos in RAW with high bitdepth, and 4K video at 30 FPS.
Maybe it'd be possible to get 10 or 12 bit-color in 1080p at 30 FPS?
That's allow for some actual cinematic work - it'd be amazing!
I guess the main problem would be the data throughput.
Saving a 16-bit DNG from the sensor for one frame is no problem but doing that for 30 frames every second could probably be too much. Maybe there could be some tradeoff possible to make this work?
