Note that switching to the front camera does not crash or cause reboot, nor does take video. Taking photos from front camera (at least at 90% at highest rez) does can reboot.

Thanks for the bug report. Does it offer the option to "Report" the crash, in which case can you do so please?
There was a bug in v1.8 that could have caused this crash - can you see if it is fixed in v1.9 please (now available on Google Play)?
CM 1.2.1 d2att on a SGH-i747 unlocked on Tmo.
