It would be more easily understandable what the photo-modes are for, if their names were written out, instead of being abbreviations and symbols. Ideally, those names would also be translated.
How the symbols are used, is also specific to English. For example, EXPO {} can be pronounced as "Expo (curly) brackets" in English (which is at least similar to "exposure-bracketing"), but in German that would be "Expo (geschweifte) Klammern", while the correct word in German would be "Belichtungsreihe".
