Can you please inProblem:
When recording long narration videos using front camera, it's difficult to identify and locate mistakes later during editing. Currently, I have to watch the entire video to find bad takes, which wastes a lot of time.
Proposed solution:
Add support for keyboard shortcuts during video recording that allows users to insert timestamped markers whenever a mistake occurs. The markers should be exported as a separate file (preferably SRT format) along with the recorded video.
Workflow:
User starts video recording using front camera
During recording, when a mistake happens, user presses a designated keyboard key (for example, spacebar or F1)
The app logs that timestamp internally without interrupting the recording
After recording ends, the app saves both the video file and a marker file (SRT or text format)
User imports both files into video editing software like Filmora, where markers appear as reference points to quickly jump to and remove bad sections
Benefits:
Saves significant editing time by eliminating the need to watch entire videos
Non-intrusive workflow that doesn't interrupt recording
Works well with existing video editing software that supports SRT files
Technical notes:
Bluetooth keyboard support already exists in Open Camera for other functions
SRT format is widely supported across video editors
Alternative formats like simple text file with timestamps would also workclude a feature
