#1280 Zoom issues on Galaxy S24 Ultra
I updated to the latest version, 1.55, and now the app seems unable to use the other lenses when zooming in, I noticed because the picture quality looks as if the app did digital zoom instead, I can choose other lenses manually and it works and the quality is better than zooming in, not sure why it began to happen, I haven't changed anything on the settings. When I change to video recording mode the zoom works as it should. Changing to original API makes it work again in photo mode, but I don't want to lose settings.

I found what's triggering the problem, it's the raw option. When enabled it prevents the other cameras from working so the zoom behaves as digital zoom only. When disabled the camera zoom works as intended. This began happening after an Android update in September, other than security patches it apparently did some changes in focus and night mode for the camera, as well as optical stabilization. After another update this week to Android 16 the problem persists. before the September update the camera would correctly zoom in with the raw option enabled, the jpg photo would have the right zoom, but the raw photo would not have any zoom. I'm guessing something prevents creating a raw photo from the other cameras when zooming in, and it worsened after the update. The only way to get a raw photo from the other cameras is to select them manually, but when doing this I can only reach 5x zoom instead of 10x.
Thanks for the update. As far as I can tell this is a device limitation, and I see similar in the Samsung stock camera: RAW is only available in Pro mode as far as I can tell(?), and in Pro mode you can't switch to different cameras by zooming, and only by selecting the cameras manually.
Admittedly it's more confusing in Open Camera as it's not obvious that turning on RAW turns off this ability, although I'm not sure there's any way to get this information easily (Samsung have the advantage they can write their camera app for their devices; but other non-Samsung devices may well support RAW with zooming to different cameras).
