No

my xiaomi note 11 pro does not shows switch multi camera icon, which means i can not select wide lens, however, Droid Dashcam DVR app of DroidCoolApps is able to switch between all cameras, which means there is a way to handle this on xiaomi phones as well

    First try Settings/"Camera API"->"Camera2 API".

    If that doesn't show either a multi-camera icon, or allow zooming out using the zoom, then this is because the device doesn't support the standard Android API to expose the cameras (either via zoom or multiple cameras).

    The only workaround is to hackily try to access camera IDs directly. The problem with that is whilst it works on some devices, on others it'll expose cameras that aren't meant to be exposed. I tried Background Video Recorder from DroidCoolApps - on my Pixel 6 Pro, it freezes when I select one of the other cameras that it exposes (because they're not meant to be exposed).

      Yes, that is exactly what should be provided for cameras that do not support the standard way. At least we could choose camera anyways and wiyh 2 or 3 try and fail the user get yo know which camera work and which one doesnt

        Although what will happen in many cases is the user gets annoyed that pressing a button to switch to a new camera crashes/freezes, and blame Open Camera :) And I wouldn't want such behaviour on my Pixel.

        These phone manufacturers properly supporting multiple cameras would be a much better way of doing this.

          I think you did not get me right. im not saying the Camera ID way should be the only one provided... what i meant is that if the standard way is not detected, then alternative should be proposed, with a warning that it may lead to unexpected behavior... because honestly, the manufacturers that doesnt give a sht about standards, they obviously wont give a sht about users asking to do so...

    If the extra camera can't be accessed when using "Camera2 API", either via multi-camera icon, or by zooming out, a request/ticket should be raised asking them to support CONTROL_ZOOM_RATIO for third party apps (see https://source.android.com/docs/core/camera/multi-camera#best-practices ).

    I have OnePlus Nord2 and Evolution X rom. I had access to multi camera button in the end of the June and now I don't have it anymore despite the fast that "Camera2 API" is still enabled. How do I get it back?

      Ask the Evolution X rom developers if something changed, in the available cameras for third party applications? (Assuming this was due to an update.)
