There is this one app that won't let me choose an image from my gallery and instead just uses the default camera bundled with android.
Can I use it as the default app on android 11 by changing the package name to com.android.camera2, and replacing the default camera app with open camera? (Android 11 removed the ability to set the default camera app for some weird reason).
I would like to mention that I have root access.

I'm using lineage 18.1 (android 11) on Moto G7plus, I found a solution I posted on xda forum. You need a rooted phone, a xml file (in attach) and just 3 operations:
Using x-plore on a rooted phone with lineage:

    I copied privapp_whitelist_net.sourceforge.opencamera in /root/system/system_ext/etc/permissions/ (chmod 644, root/root)

I created /root/system/system_ext/priv-app/OpenCamera and copied the apk of the app, net.sourceforge.opencamera.apk

restart the phone (and you'll find OpenCamera installed)

    Please consider that:
After the procedure, to be sure Open Camera was eligible to work as default app I disabled snap (the default camera app of lineage), then I started Sports Tracker and all was ok. Then I re-enabled snap and the system asked me to choose what was the default camera app.
