For a long time I successfully used folder on sd to save my video files. But then I decided to make some settings. I tried to hide folder and renamed it, after that I restored name. But since then I cann't save any video in any folder on SD card! Storage access not working. Just an empty file with zero size created and message "could not save video". How can I restore using my sd?

I used Storage Access. Rechoosing the save location don't help. I can choose folder on sd, but when I shoot video there is an error. File created but with zero size.

I cannot save to the SD card. When I try to specify the folder, only the internal memory shows up. There seems to be no way to save to the SD card.

Is this the dialog that comes up when you select to change the save location (or enable Storage Access Framework)?
Unfortunately this is part of the Android OS so outside of my control as far as I know. In some cases you need to enable showing it from the "three dots" icon. I have had reports that in some cases it doesn't show the SD card at all, I'm not sure why this is I'm afraid.

I have problems with this too. It worked perfectly fine for quite a long time writing to the SD card, then "something" happened that broke it. It happened quite a few months ago. Now, images from Open Camera do not appear in my gallery app. They DO appear in a file manager app, but they do not open from there if I tap on them. If I connect up to a laptop to copy image files, Open Camera images show with zero length, and copy as a zero length file. This is very disappointing, I like Open Camera a lot and would like to continue supporting it, but I can't, because it doesn't work properly any more. [Motorola G4 Plus, Android 8.1]

I have Android 9 on a Xiaomi A1
There is no option to save to SD card. I can change which folder I can save in on internal memory but I cannot save to an SD card. I NEED this feature because the internal memory is small and pretty much full. The thing is my A1 has the best camera of any phone in the house, so I really want this.

Using version 1.48.1 of opencamera on fairphone 3 with /E/ system, I can see SD card if I enable Storage Access framework, but then I am unable to select the directory on the SD card I want to use... I can only explore the SD card, but so button 'select', no way to come back to setting after selection... A pity

It is pity that the operating system of fairphone 3 seems to have such a bug.Tho' I find that very hard to believe. Is there a /DCIM/Camera folder on the root of the SD card? And if so, did you try to set the that as the desired folder?
In case nothing else helps, there might be a way to set the destination folder to SD/ ... /DCIM/Camera by tweaking the Open Camera backup XLM file.

The dialog/interface that shows is part of Android so not something I have control over. Unfortunately it's not the most user friendly - at one point SD cards were hidden by default and had to be enabled in a menu option on that dialog. Plus Google keep changing it in various Android versions.
Maybe post a screenshot to see if anyone can help?

On their site, Fairphone 3 is said to have Android 10, I do not remember how the browse-folder dialog was in aOS10. But, once the dialog is open, one should tap the icon on the upper right, to see if there is the option "Show SD card" and if it is there then tap on it. However, doing so is not enough, then one needs to tap the icon on the upper left and only after that the "SD card" will be listed as an option, right under the 'Internal' option. Of course, usually, it does not say "SD card" but something in the form of "1234-ABCD", anyway tapping on it will bring the folders of the the SD into view, so one can keep on tapping towards to the desired folder.
I believe that in some of the Android OS versions camera apps may only save files under the /SD/ ... /DCIM/ folder, or to a folder under that path. I'm not sure about this, but I always create an /SD/ ... /DCIM/OC folder. (the "" is there because I want that folder to be listed as the topmost folder in Simple Gallery).
I is also worthwhile to see how the permissions are in Android's Settings/Apps/Permissions.

Which method at http://opencamera.org.uk/help.html#faq are you using?
