When I installed OpenCamera I tried the app and zoomed around... from 0.56x to 30x on my Google Pixel 7 Pro.
I noticed a vibration all the way when moving the zoom slider.
I can't tell if this is created by pulses on the vibration feedback motor or if the optical zoom is used in some steppy way so it makes the phone jitter.
Other apps I tried do not have this vibration.
I even tried to revoke "sensors" permission for OpenCamera in settings of my GrapheneOs but still the vibration remains.
So that scares me!
Will OpenCamera break my tele?
Please clarify! Thanks.

This is just the haptic vibration which I added in the last version - it's a standard ability of phones to generate a vibration, and isn't caused by the optical zoom itself. The Samsung Galaxy stock camera does a similar thing. But you can turn it off if you prefer as the other reply says (Settings/More camera controls/"Allow vibration feedback").

Go into your camera settings in OpenCamera, and turn off Allow vibration.
It didn't break the phone just the author added such an option.
