I love Open Camera and have happily contributed to Mark. But I'm having an awful time trying to take pics of things on TV!
I'll pause the TV, get the camera ready, aim at the TV...then the picture fades in and out, like it's trying to find the right brightness. It starts out looking exactly right, but by the time I've had a chance to frame just the right shot, it goes bright/light/fuzzy, making an unacceptable shot.
If I move the view away from the TV, focusing on something else instead [like the ceiling or bed], then move back toward the TV, it's great...until it isn't! Invariably, it does as described above.
I've tried changing numerous settings, like scene mode, but can't seem to hit on the right combination. How best to take photos of a TV in daytime? My previous camera app, F-Stop Pro, did it easily.

OP here: I meant "A Better Camera Unlocked" as my previous camera app. I don't know why I named my gallery app instead!

This is a known issue with using cameras on TVs/monitors due to the refresh. One thing to try is Settings/Processing settings/"Anti-banding", setting to 50Hz or 60Hz, if supported by your device. (Maybe also try changing Settings/"Camera API" to "Camera2 API" if the anti-banding option doesn't show.)

Thanks, Mark, I'll give your suggestions a try!
Excellent app, by the way.

OP here: Yay! I changed my anti-banding to 60Hz--didn't help by itself, but then I also changed Camera API to Camera2 API, and success! So far, so good. I'll post again if necessary.
Thanks for your help.
