I recently ticked the option to add geotagging info to taken photo. To my surprise the info doesn't consist of latitude & longitude, but of something like a postal address. Not only there is no housenumber (and stated street is some hundret metres long); not only the mentioned street is about a kilometre or so offset of actual location; but also - who is responsible for conversion? To which servers my current location is being uploaded in order to do that?
I don't want something like that. How do I manage to simply have plain geo coordinates added to image?

So are you using a fork from eOS?

No, it’s standard /e/OS like offered on their website.

Sorry, missed the core of your question. Yes, it is OpenCamera as it comes with /e/OS install.

Do you think that this behaviour may be due to forking by /e/OS team?

From what I remember they eOS probably have some kind of app that anomizes your location (and is launched immediately). I don't remember exactly how it is with it. But I think there is something about it in their forum.

I think best to ask/e/OS to be sure as this a forked version. Open Camera used to have this feature to stamp location addresses to an image, but I had to remove it precisely due to the problem that the Android APIs for this don't disclose who or which servers receive this information ( https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/207227852 ).
Even when Open Camera had this feature, it was optional and off by default, maybe check the settings under location settings? Or try the /e/OS forums to be sure in case things are done differently.

Unfortunately this is the reason I'm still using the 1.49.2 or 1 version,as I like to stamp photos and videos with the full address and post code.
I was hoping to find it in some modded apps but I will look on these forked.
Is that possible to reinstate this option?
Thank you
Gianpiero

Google still don't disclose the necessary info for their data safety requirements I'm afraid ( https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/207227852 was closed as won't fix).
