Is it possible to disable screen rotation on startup? It extends the camera's start-up time, is unnecessary, causes each rotation while entering the gallery and leaving it, and distorts some of the widgets on the desktop.

This kinda annoying, all camera app that I tried doesn't have this rotation. I hope dev explained why the ui rotate on startup and preview.
Can we disable this?

the rotation of the app also causes another problem. if for example u reveive a call while in open camera, the answer/decline buttons have vertical orientation making it really aqward to use. so is there a solution or workaround for this matter?

Like many camera applications, Open Camera fixes the orientation so that it's faster when changing the orientation, however it's on my todo to update this behaviour (it seems that Android is faster at orientation changes than it used to be).

hey nice program! so i got the idea to use teamviewer to use my phone as a cat cam, there's a cat eating my cats food outside. Problem was the 2 min timeout in default cam app so i found this app.
You can try this yourself with teamviewer, in portrait the preview is sideways, turn the phone to landscape and it's fine. So portait shouldn't rotate 90 degrees right, i couldn't find a way to fix it, so the phone is on its side now, but still should be able portait too.

Thanks for the great app. I completely agree that this orientation disfunctionallity should go up to first priority. It really is confusing changing screen orientation, and indeed the best example is when receiving a call u struggle to answer. But also trying to access drop down menu with settings (scrolling from top of screen to botom).

Unfortunately it can't be the highest priority - that's supporting Google's changes to Android 10+ with "scoped storage" (which frustratingly is something nobody seems to want, but required for applications to implement in order to support new Android versions). But it is high on my list. Note though that other applications do this, e.g., Samsung stock camera locks the orientation (albeit to portrait rather than landscape).

I have to balance this with many other requests I'm afraid (see https://opencamera.org.uk/history.html ).
