When enabling Repeat mode when making photos, the app does not take photos if I'm moving my device (for example - when I'm walking with the device in my hand). If I start moving, the countdown doesn't appear and no photo is taken. When I stop moving, the Repeat mode continues.

Is it possible to set Repeat mode in such a way that photos are taken at a regular interval, no matter if I'm moving or not?

(Attached is a video of the current behavior on my device)

Reviving old thread bc I had the same issue and nobody has replied. It is somewhat resolved by turning off Auto Focus, but doing so significantly increases blur even on the horizon when focus set to infinity.

This is not a fault/failure of hardware/software of the camera. We are taught to keep the camera still & steady while shooting, for pretty good reasons, among them is the fact that no one wants to take photos/videos that are blurred all over and around. To stabilize a camera, that can not be held/kept still & steady, photographers use gimbals, they are magical devices. Good quality gimbals are rather expensive tough.

It is a fault/failure of camera hw, sw or mechanical calibration, when a steadily held camera that is in infinite focus -mode, produces unfocused photos of a steady subject that is located "infinitely" far away. In such case the device requires service, however in the mean time the manual focus mode (slider) of Open Camera likely helps, but not in the case when the camera is held recklessly.

But shooting video on a smartphone creates 60 photos per second no matter if I hold it still or not.

It would be nice to have an option basically equivalent to making a 1fps video, but that creates separate jpeg files and not mp4

Gimbals are a magical help, for both photography and footage. Exactly similarly.

But gimballs cost money and cannot be used in every situation. There are scenarios where the camera must be hand-held. Turning off the requirement for the camera to be stationary would help in such situations. Also, the "Repeat mode" naming could at least be adjusted to indicate that it's not just taking a picture every n seconds, but also waits for the phone to be steady
