I have a Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G running Android 13.
I put it in a dash mounted holder so I can see Maps while driving.
Sometimes when my car hits a rough patch of road Open Camera starts by itself and takes over the screen from my maps program. This has become so annoying, since it does this repeatedly, that I have taken to uninstalling Open Camera when it misbehaves like this. I usually reinstall it later but it is easier to just use the native camera app than to reinstall Open Camera over and over again even though open Camera is a superior camera app.
Any idea how I can get Open Camera to stop doing this open by itself behavior?

It's the first time I've heard of OC having such capabilities. I don't know about samsung but on my one smartphone I can set the OC to run automatically but that's it (and it works on the principle that it will run in the background or can be run by another app). So I would look for the cause in the settings of the smartphone.
Because to me it looks like activating an application by gesture - something that Motorola has, that e.g. I shake the phone and it turns on the flashlight or the camera when I turn the phone quickly 2x on my wrist.

This sounds strange - Open Camera doesn't have any code/ability to start itself up like that. I don't know if you can figure out what makes this happen, e.g., double power press, or shaking the phone as the other reply suggests? Usually the phone should have a setting to decide what happens (e.g., on Samsung Galaxy S24 you can choose to have double power button open an application).
