My new Huawei Mate 20 Lite phone takes great photos in broad daylight but is horrible on cloudy days or in other low lite conditions. The photos come out way too dark...

The only control offered is an on/off switch for "HDR" (High Dynamic Range). That does not do enough to compensate for the lack of light however. My older Samsung S7 has a "light exposure slider bar" in the camera software that activates just by touching the screen, then sliding the bar to where the exposure looks the best. (See attached photo of this Samsung setup). So my question is this... Will "Open Camera" give me a simple slider-bar control over the exposure of photos before I click the shutter button?

Yes, I realize all phone cameras and native camera software is different... but I'm just wondering in general if this is a feature of "Open Camera".

    Many thanks!

This looks like exposure compensation, Open Camera supports this by clicking the exposure "-/+" icon.

    Hi Mark,

Yes... that was it! I went ahead and downloaded/installed the app... and it gave me exactly what I needed using the "-/+" slider bar. As the Britts would say.... "Brilliant"!

The Open Camera app is far superior to the native camera app that came on my Huawei phone.

    Thumbs up!
