Does anybody know, if I install the Open Camera on Samsung A52, Could I extend the exposure?
The native camera app comes with limitation of maxImum 10s of exposure, and I would like to get the 30s
I haven't bought the phone yet
Many thanks

I have the a52s (A528B), and open camera 1.50.1 (8June) works far better that the stock one! :)
(pub tv overexposed, but opencam gives good pic of TV and surroundings )
it still cannot go above 4624x3468 (16.04mp) though.. any fix???

Probably not. The maximum exposure is whatever the device sets for third party applications, which is rarely more than 1s. And annoyingly Samsung devices seem to limit exposure for third party applications to only 0.1s (at least on my Galaxy S10e).

Hello Mark, I've the open camera installed in a Samsung A12, and I got a new update that in comments says "Support longer exposure time on Samsung devices"
Do you know which devices?
Many thanks

Open Camera already supports the maximum shutter speed made available for third party applications. As noted above, many devices annoyingly limit what's available for third party cameras, even if their stock camera allows more.

Whilst I can override this (what the recent update does), I can't be sure that just because it works in the stock camera it'll work for third party cameras, so I'm afraid I want to limit it based on what I can test (otherwise I get bad reviews if I allow it but it doesn't work on some devices...)

Hi Mark ! If I understood correctly, you can override the limit. Is there a way to get a test apk with the limit overrided for a samsung A51 so I can test it? Since that might fix the dark photos with NR and HDR in low light. In this device the max is 0.1s in Open Camera

Thanks for the offer, although bear in mind the change is minor - only from 0.1s to 0.2s, so won't get what you're after. Firstly I wouldn't want to increase it too much beyond what the API claims is supported, secondly there are many other issues to test too - e.g. annoyingly the Android 11 update on my Galaxy S10e seemed to introduce a bug related to setting photo exposures longer than the preview exposures, which would show up if I allowed longer exposures.

In your Galaxy S10e, does it works longer exposure with the new update of Open Camera?
I'm thinking about to buy the A52s, but the only thing that I'm dissapointing with Samsung is that they don't allow longer exposure than 10s. Only in their flagships
Maybe with One UI 4.0 they consider to allow their camera app and 3rd party apps to let set longer exposure (at least 30s)

Until recently, I didn't have a BT trigger Samsung Galaxy A32 https://productz.com/en/samsung-galaxy-a32/p/JZQ2b, so OpenCamera was triggered by a timer (really many time settings possible) then serial image (also with many pictures in a row) and the serial image interval.
So I included everything so we could take different pictures in different positions from a distance.
The best pictures were then selected. I didn't find that in the original app.
In addition, the brightness settings can be reached quickly.
So OpenCamera is my favorite so far.
As for the different modes like night, wide angle,... I can't say anything because I haven't tried them out yet.

I have issues with x2 zoom camera. There is no way for me to activate. I've also tried zooming with the other cameras to see if it switched automatically...

Only the Galaxy S series I'm afraid (with Android 10+).
But they have already 30s of shutter speed. Nothing for the A series?
