Hi, im sorry if this is a really stupid question but how do I adjust the white balance manually after i change the setting to "manual-cct" in the drop down menu? Everything just becomes super cool (blue) and i cant see any way of changing it...

White balance can only be changed to one of various modes, which are offered by the camera driver - I'm not sure what manual-cct is, I'm guessing it's one of the modes that's offered by your device, but Open Camera doesn't support any additional manual configuration of white balance.

Or another way: would it be possible to integrate that the picture will be saved with predefined manual red/green/blue settings? This would be very helpful with a variety of camera modules, even if the result is not already calculated in real time.

Yes. I assumed that in opencamera already post-processing is implemented. My intention would be:
1. providing of the image by the API,
2. modification of RGB by opencamera,
3. saving the jpg by opencamera.

Manual white balance temperature is now supported (as of v1.38), but requires "Use Camera2 API" to be enabled under Settings.

I'm using the Camera2 API", but I still have no "manual white balance" option in the popup menu, on the white balance section. I'm on version 1.51.1

I am using v1.4.1 on the huawei p20 with camera2 API enabled, but when I try to use manual white balance the picture always has a green tint. My camera2 API is Android L. Might that be the issue?

I would rephrase the question. I'm using opencamera v 1.47.3 on Samsung Galaxy S8.
There are several presets for white balance, lik Auto, Daylight, Fluorescent, etc. One of these is "Manual". Most users would expect some kind of control (slider?) to appear, so that you can actually set color temperature by hand. But I'm wondering where is such control element could be found? Without it "Manual" option is just meaningless.

After changing to manual white balance, press the "-/+" icon, there will be a slider for white balance temperature there.
(I agree it's not ideal, still thinking of how to improve it - maybe it should open automatically after changing to manual, or perhaps the white balance slider should just live on the popup menu...)

I have an equally stupid question - I understand and followed Mark's advice about the slider and was able to access that. Is there any way to just point at a white object and set that as the white balance in the app itself? Or can that only be done in post? Thank you!

On a Huawei p30 pro there is also always a green tint when white balance switched to manual, irrespective of colour temperature setting. Any ideas what causes this issue?

Hi, I would like to pose this question once again, I'm using version 1.48.1 on a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) with the API2 switched on. In the pop-up menu there are 5 white balance presets to choose from, but none of them is called "manual". I have searched through the menu but there seems to be no other way of setting it to manual. Is it an issue with my phone or something else (maybe it's currently under construction?).

It seems my phone does not support manual white balance (just found it in the app info tab). Pity...

I'm using API2 on an LG K51S. I have been using it in manual mode for copying slides, for which it has been very good. Now, however, there is a blue cast visible which goes away when i switch to API1. I have the latest version of the app and i have restarted my phone. I can't get any white balance settings other than locked and unlocked and no WB slider.
Thanks

Oh ok, thanks

Do you have some more details? Would this be some kind of post-process operation to modify red/green/blue?
Yes. I assumed that in opencamera already post-processing is implemented. My intention would be:

2. modification of RGB by opencamera,
3. saving the jpg by opencamera.
It does support post-processing of images. I've added this to my todo.

I believe OP was talking about the “manual” option for the white balance. I have it, and it just makes the photo look very green.
